Access to the permanent exhibition is via the upper footbridge, which provides a good view of the more general exhibition structure. The large illuminated cubes, arranged like harbour containers, keep inside of them a small sample of the essence of the relationship of the people of Galicia with the sea, including the exploitation, preservation and marketing of natural marine resources. The exhibition is divided into a number of thematic areas, each of them linked to one of the essential pillars of the fisheries industry, and is complemented by a scientific section, situated on the building’s basement.

Explanatory panels, video and audio documentaries, interactive screens, recorded documents and numerous exhibits will escort the visitor along the Museum’s route. Also, the description of both shellfish and octopus-related capture activities will help visitors know more about the harvesting processes, whereas the sardine will be the protagonist of the salting techniques, and the hake will be used to help explain operations in the fish auctions, the fish markets, the routes followed, and the more general marketing process.
